Eli Manning Targeting NFL Ownership In Major Development

New York Giants legend Eli Manning had a smooth transition from the gridiron to the media, but he's seemingly not done finding new activities.

Besides his successful joint show with brother Payton Manning, "The Manning Cast," his ESPN+ "Eli's Places" and the brand-new "The Eli Manning Show" on YouTube, the two-time Super Bowl champion wants to be more involved in the activities of a team.

He has been a Pro Bowl coach with his brother, but Manning wants to raise the bar.

The former Ole Miss star could join former rival Tom Brady in the club of former players with a stake in NFL teams. He's remained close to the Giants, as a former player and fan, but things could change soon.

After Brady bought a stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, Manning is planning to do the same, although he wouldn't have to go far from his city to do so.

Bloomberg reported on Tuesday that the retired quarterback is putting together an investment group to bid for a piece of the Giants.

The Mara and Tisch family started exploring the possibility of selling a non-controlling stake in the team. The Giants could be valued at around $8 billion, of which about 10% would be available for sale.

Manning had expressed his desire to become a Giants minority owner in February, naming the "Big Blue" as the only team he would like to buy.

“There’s probably only one team I’d be interested in pursuing,” he said in an interview with CNBC. “It’s the one I played for for 16 years.”

Manning won two Super Bowls on the way to becoming one of the greatest Giants of all time. He ended the New England Patriots' unbeaten run in the 2007 season, beating them in Super Bowl XLII, before upsetting them again in Super Bowl XLVI.

There's a rich history between the quarterback and the team, and he wants to extend their connection for many years to come.
