Elic Ayomanor Gives Shades of a Pro Bowl WR to an NFL Analyst

Elic Ayomanor is an impressive-looking wide receiver when you see him. He is a shade under 6-foot-2 and weighs in at 206 pounds. With those measurements, he can perform some incredibly athletic feats. The Titans saw the ability of Ayomanor and decided to take him in the fourth round with the 136th overall pick.

For a player that many thought would go way sooner than he did, this pick has been seen as a steal by a lot of analysts. And for a team needing to add dynamic wide receivers to support their new quarterback, this move was one they needed to make.

Titans fans are looking forward to what Ayomanor can bring, but you also wonder what kind of player he compares to with his vast ability. Charles Davis, NFL analyst for CBS, has an interesting one when he takes a look at the tape and the play of Ayomanor.

"He has shades of Chris Godwin with his physical build, movement skills, aggressiveness to and for the ball, and his competitiveness," Davis told Athlon Sports.

Godwin, who got drafted one round ahead of Ayomanor in the 2017 NFL Draft, has been a mainstay with the Buccaneers since he was drafted and has had four 1,000-yard seasons since 2019. The former Super Bowl champion pairs with future Hall of Famer Mike Evans to make one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL when healthy.

Ayomanor and Godwin both sport similar body types and can make defenses pay with their abilities. For the Titans and Titans fans, hopefully, the shades of Godwin that Charles Davis sees shine through.
