EPSN analyst rips into Packers QB Aaron Rodgers
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Former NFL veteran receiver and ESPN analyst Harry Douglas offered his two cents on the Aaron Rodgers situation, which will involve the 39-year-old quarterback making his decision of what his next move will be. Whether that be to stay in Green Bay, finish out his career with another team or retire, remains to be seen.

“Aaron Rodgers might stay in Green Bay just because he knows he can get away with what he’s doing in Green Bay,” Douglas said on Wednesday on ESPN Radio.

What Exactly Does This Mean For Aaron Rodgers And The Packers?

Douglas is insinuating that Rodgers knows how much he means to the fans and the history of the Packers organization, that he has the ability to take advantage of the franchise by asking for more money than he is valued for — and then blame the team for the lack of help.

This irony is now typical for the Packers. Yet, they have done nothing but bought into Rodgers’ progression and suggestions by re-signing him as well as trading for his former teammate Randall Cobb. Rodgers then again left the team without a trace when the team failed to make the playoffs.

This is not the first time Rodgers has left Green Bay hanging while he explores his options, as last year saw him wait until March 15 to re-sign with the Packers for three years and $150 million.

Will the Packers bite the bullet and pay Rodgers despite his mysterious persona, or will they move from their signal-caller of 18 years and give the reins to third-year backup Jordan Love?

Ultimately, Rodgers controls his own destiny for 2023, with the top-three projections currently being him remaining with the Packers, getting traded to the New York Jets or being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.
