On Sunday afternoon the Green Bay Packers dismantled the Brock Purdy-less San Francisco 49ers by a final score of 38-10.
Green Bay dominated the game in the early window, allowing just six offensive plays from the 49ers in the first 20 minutes of action. In the end, the Packers controlled 36:43 of the 60-minute clock while the 49ers had the ball for just 23 minutes and 17 seconds.
Following the game, Fox sideline reporter Erin Andrews posted a photo with Army veteran and country music singer Craig Morgan, who performed the national anthem before the game as part of the Packers' "Salute to Service."
Green Bay announced the full "Salute to Service" schedule for the game.
Prior to the national anthem, the Packers will recognize U.S. Army veteran David Zawicki through Operation Fan Mail, presented by Network Health, on the field. Army veteran and country music singer Craig Morgan will perform the national anthem and a large American flag will be featured on the field. A flyover will be performed by C-17 and KC-46 U.S. Air Force planes from the 97th Air Mobility Wing based out of Altus, Okla.
At halftime, U.S. Army recruits will take the Oath of Enlistment in a ceremony presided over by Wisconsin native General Andrew Poppas, commanding general of the U.S. Army Forces Command. Halftime entertainment will also include a performance by the 82nd Airborne Division All-American Chorus, and the Howards Grove Tigers and the Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers will compete in the High School Quarterback Challenge, presented by HPE and Camera Corner.
It's a classy move from the NFL to honor the military, both active and veteran, during the season.
