The Cleveland Browns are back on the practice field in Berea, Ohio, today for voluntary OTAs. Both veterans and newcomers are taking the field together.
Cleveland two rookie quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft: Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Both will be given a chance to earn a role with the team.
Cleveland also has Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco available to take snaps—on top of Deshaun Watson, who remains sidelined due to injury and may not play in 2025. It’s a crowded quarterback room, and the team will face important decisions down the road.
Coming off a 3-14 season, the Browns are focused on finally finding success at the quarterback position. They hold two first-round picks in next year’s draft, which they may consider using on a quarterback—depending on what they learn this season. Sanders brings plenty of media attention to the room and is sure to stay in the spotlight.
“I don’t think I have the fortitude to endure an entire offseason of Browns QB battle updates. Shedeur Sanders hype as he’s throwing to—and against—fourth-stringers. Kenny Pickett with the first team in 2025. I can’t do it. I’m not strong enough.” —Ben Solak, ESPN
Once again, Cleveland is likely to see multiple starting quarterbacks over the course of the season—a recurring theme during Kevin Stefanski’s tenure as head coach. Finding consistency at the position could be key to securing his job and giving the Browns the stability they’ve been chasing for years.
Get ready for nonstop quarterback talk—it’s set to dominate Browns headlines all offseason and into the regular season. This isn’t anything new for the Browns.
