ESPN Analyst Places Huge Expectations On Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys under Brian Schottenheimer are a tricky proposition to get a read on, especially if you listen to the national media.

We have FS1's Colin Cowherd, who thinks Dallas will get humiliated every week, and Schotty will be one-and-done.

And then you have ESPN's Domonique Foxworth, who was speaking on GetUp, who has gone the complete opposite.

He has set the bar for Schottenheimer and this roster as high as ever in 2025.

"I think it's the NFC Championship game at least," Foxworth said. "It seems like a lofty expectation for a team that only won seven games last year, but you have to remember that Dak Prescott was injured and the defense fell apart. With the addition of [Matt] Eberflus they can really maximise some of that talent and the receiving core with Dak Prescott, obviously can put up big numbers, he can play MVP-caliber football. This team has a chance if they put it all together. But I do think the expectations remain high in Dallas."

Can Schotty deliver that in Year 1?

That is quite the task.

For most Cowboys fans, making the playoffs and winning a game would constitute a successful season; however, there is no denying the high expectations for both the offense and defense.

If the injury bug stays away.

A NFC Championship appearance, for most, would be overachieving for Dallas, but that is the expectation for an organization like this.

Yes, the winds of change have blown through The Star, but what hasn't changed is the lofty expectations that are placed on this team.
