New Cincinnati forward Dillon Mitchell cracked ESPN's top 50 basketball newcomer rankings this week. The Bearcats swing man checked in at No. 44.
"Mitchell should be something of a missing piece for Wes Miller and the Bearcats, who needed a versatile frontcourt piece who could make plays at both ends of the floor," Jeff Borzello wrote. "As a sophomore at Texas, he averaged 9.6 points and 7.5 rebounds."
Mitchell made all six of his shots in Cincinnati's open exhibition against Ohio State and looked like an immediate impact player. He should start the whole season as a connecting piece on both ends.
