After NFL teams finalized their respective rosters for the 2025 season, fans and experts alike got a clearer view of which franchises would contend and which would likely struggle.
One team that has plenty of eyes on it is the Cleveland Browns, and for good reason. The team is in rebuild mode, even opting to pass on Travis Hunter to trade the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft for more assets.
Despite their situation, they have some exciting names on the roster, particularly Shedeur Sanders who fell to the fifth round of the latest draft after being considered a first-round prospect. The son of NFL legend Deion Sanders made it to the final 53-man roster, but it has yet to be seen if he will be able to get significant opportunities to play.
The Browns could have one of the most fearsome defenses in the NFL this season. With Myles Garrett leading the way and defensive tackle Mason Graham, linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and cornerback Denzel Ward supporting him, Cleveland should pose problems for other NFL offenses.
However, the Browns' problem lies in their offense. They are still looking for their quarterback of the future, with a 40-year-old Joe Flacco set to start for them for now as they figure things out.
Even Gennaro Filice of NFL.com ranked the Browns' Flacco, Dylan Sampson and Jerry Jeudy as the worst QB-RB-Pass Catcher combo in the league.
That being said, it's not a surprise that ESPN's Football Power Index also gave the Browns the worst chance to win Super Bowl LX at 0.1%. They have worse odds than the New York Jets (0.2%), Tennessee Titans (0.2%), New York Giants (0.3%) and Las Vegas Raiders (0.4%).
Unsurprisingly, the Browns' probability of making the playoffs is also the worst at 9.0%.
While the Browns are not expected to compete for the Super Bowl LX title, their future remains promising with the assets they have collected.
Should Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel fail to show that they can be the future of the franchise, the Browns have the ability to use their assets to draft another quarterback who can better lead them.
After trading Kenny Pickett to the Raiders, Cleveland has 10 picks in the 2026 Draft, including five of their own picks and a first-round pick from that trade with the Jaguars, per SB Nation.
