The Denver Broncos are 8-2 on the season, riding a seven-game winning streak as they remain atop the AFC West. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-4 so far, most recently losing to the Buffalo Bills.
Naturally, when the Broncos and Chiefs meet in Week 11 on Sunday, many would expect the Denver franchise to be favored. After all, Sean Payton's squad is on a roll, even having beaten the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5.
Unfortunately for the Broncos, that's not the case at all. The betting odds have Denver as slight underdogs, and ESPN's Matchup Predictor has the Kansas City franchise as overwhelming favorites.
On the ESPN model, the Chiefs have a 60.2% chance to emerge victorious, while the Broncos are only at 39.5%.
Despite the Chiefs' record, they rank seventh in total offense and have the fifth-best passing offense with Patrick Mahomes leading the way. They are also solid defensively, as they are No. 6 in total defense.
The Broncos are a great defensive team — they are No. 3 in total defense — but their offense led by quarterback Bo Nix leaves much to be desired. They are 13th in total offense, with their passing offense at No. 18.
Their rushing offense is top 10 in the NFL, but their leading rusher in JK Dobbins — who has 772 yards and four touchdowns on the ground — is out against the Chiefs due to a left foot injury.
Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton (cancerous tumor) and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain II (pectoral injury) are both out as well.
As for the Chiefs, only Isiah Pacheco was ruled out, while the rest of the team is healthy.
