ESPN Reveals Surprising Colts Starting QB in 2025 Projections

With free agency and the NFL draft in the rear view mirror, the Indianapolis Colts have taken center stage of the offseason.

They have been teasing the idea of a quarterback competition in training camp for nearly six months and it is finally getting ready to take place.

The Colts have made it abundantly clear that they remain steadfast in their belief in Anthony Richardson, but he needs to make marked improvements to retain his starting job.

He’s struggled mightily in his career with accuracy and consistency, so the team is hoping that bringing in a veteran in Daniel Jones can help push Richardson forward.

ESPN recently predicted the stat lines for all 32 teams’ starting quarterbacks and surprisingly they had both Indianapolis quarterbacks listed.

For Richardson, they predicted a drastically improved completion percentage with over 60%, over 2,000 yards passing, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions in just 10 games.

They also predicted 62.6% completion, 1,300 passing yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions in seven games for Jones.

Neither of these stat lines are notable, but the improved numbers would likely be enough for Richardson to stave off a move to a new team.

Rhythm and consistency have been large contributing factors as to why the Florida product has had such a hard time developing.

Completing 60% of his passes would be a miracle with where his accuracy was just a season ago.

These numbers aren’t elite by any stretch, but the Colts would be ecstatic to get that type of production from Richardson and feel better about his long term viability.
