ESPN's Mike Greenberg Has Officially Flipped His Super Bowl Prediction

ESPN's Mike Greenberg isn't exactly known for standing by his opinions whenever something happens. But the Get Up host must have set a new record this week for fastest time to flip from one Super Bowl pick to another.

On Wednesday, Greenberg announced that he would be picking the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl 59 this Sunday. He echoed the sentiment of his colleague Damien Woody in asserting that the team would secure the three-peat. He would reiterate the pick on Thursday.

"I'm picking the three-peat. Listen, if you just look at the teams from top to bottom I think the Philadelphia Eagles are the more talented team. But I'm not betting against Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and company in this moment in time playing for history... I'm going with the Chiefs," Woody said.

But on Friday, Greenberg was singing a different tune:

"As great as Kansas City has been... while it scares me to death to do it I'm gonna pick the Eagles!"

Even Adam Schefter called Greenberg out for his nonsensical pick swap:

"Here's the great part: Greeny can't be wrong! He's now picked both!" Schefter said.

Greenberg wouldn't be alone in changing picks though as analyst Domonique Foxworth subsequently changed his own previous pick from the Chiefs to the Eagles in a "non-football decision."

You can't really blame Greenberg and Foxworth too much for changing their picks. The spread on the game is nearly even and it truly appears to be one of the toughest Super Bowl matchups to properly evaluate in recent memory.

The Eagles certainly seem like the more complete team and boast an elite defense with the league's best running back in Saquon Barkley. But the Chiefs are the two-time defending champions, seemingly have an infinite supply of good fortune and a quarterback who always seems to play better when the stakes get higher.
