Sunday NFL Countdown made sure to keep Randy Moss a part of its Week 14 show.
ESPN announced Friday that the Hall of Fame wide receiver will take an extended absence from the weekly NFL show to focus on a health issue. Moss asked for prayers last week without providing any specifics. Although he wasn't in the studio, the crew continued a long-running segment in his honor.
Mike Greenberg said Moss was "adamant" that Sunday NFL Countdown continued doing "You Got Mossed." ESPN showed multiple Minnesota Vikings fans wearing his jersey outside of U.S. Bank Stadium before highlighting the week's top plays that embodied the star wideout.
Tedy Bruschi called it an "honor and privilege" to introduce the segment's No. 1 play. After showing Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews box out Philadelphia Eagles defenders for a touchdown last Sunday, ESPN panned back to the studio. Multiple crew members joined the stage to declare, "You got Mossed!" in unison.
Moss responded to the Awful Announcing clip on social media.
"I luv my teammates and my fans," Moss wrote with a "Skol" hashtag.

Greenberg started Sunday NFL Countdown by addressing his colleague's absence.
"We begin with a word about our friend, our teammate, Randy Moss," Greenberg said. "You may have heard, Randy is stepping away for a while to tend to his health. Randy, we are sending all our love to you and your family today and every day. And we cannot wait until you are right back here where you belong."
Rex Ryan promised that he'll be "holding it down, kicking butt all day for you." The rest of the panel took turns wishing Moss well.
"Randy, we love you man. Can't wait 'till you get back," Alex Smith said. "Know you're in good hands and know you're gonna kick some a**."
"We're gonna do the best we can without you, even though we love you," Bruschi said.
"Moss, we're just holding it down for you," Adam Schefter said. "You're in our hearts, buddy."
Greenberg joked that Moss was probably watching and yelling at them to "get to the show."
