Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has a proven track record of consistently excelling in the NFL Draft.

Many of the star players from last year's Super Bowl-winning roster were drafted by Roseman, including Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, and Jalen Carter. But Roseman may have had one of his best drafts in Philadelphia last year, where he picked two cornerbacks in the first two rounds. And those corners are receiving high praise this offseason from PFF.

PFF rewards Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean with high rankings

Pro Football Focus (PFF) released their annual position rankings, going through the top 32 players at each position. Eagles players are featured throughout all of those lists, and rightfully so, following an incredible 2024 season. But two corners entering their second season in Philadelphia received extremely high praise. Cooper DeJean was ranked 11th, and Quinyon Mitchell was ranked 16th in the 2025 cornerback rankings.

DeJean, a second-round pick out of Iowa in the 2024 draft, impressed during the regular season and came on during the playoff run. He finished the regular season with 51 total tackles, six passes defensed, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries, en route to a fourth-place finish in the Defensive Rookie of the Year race. Across four playoff games, he picked up 18 total tackles, four passes defensed, one fumble recovery, and a huge Super Bowl pick-six off of Patrick Mahomes.

"The highest-ranked rookie from 2024 on the list, DeJean was phenomenal for the Eagles in their Super Bowl run," PFF writer John Kosko said. "He ranked second in PFF coverage grade from man and zone-match coverage in 2024 (76.7), third in PFF coverage grade (84.1) and 12th in PFF advanced coverage grade. He did not allow a touchdown on 97 targets."

Mitchell, a first-round pick out of Toledo, started 16 regular season games for the Birds and racked up 46 total tackles with a whooping 12 passes defensed. He finished second in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting and got even better in the playoffs. He had two interceptions and four passes defensed in four playoff games and was a massive part of a defense that shut down the Chiefs in the big game. Kosko also shared his praises for Mitchell.

"The top two rookie cornerbacks from 2024 were the Eagles' first two selections in the 2024 NFL Draft. Mitchell fared better than his teammate in PFF advanced coverage grade, ranking sixth, but placed ninth in PFF overall and standard coverage grades. Don’t be surprised if Mitchell contends for a top-five spot a year from now, as he finished the 2024 season with 15 forced incompletions (third most)."

The hype is real around Mitchell and DeJean and Eagles fans will be eager to see how high they climb on PFF's rankings going forward.
