Every NFL team's greatest weakness heading into the draft

Every team has areas they need to address in the NFL draft, but some needs are bigger than others. Here's a look at every team's greatest weakness heading into the draft.

Arizona Cardinals: Offensive Line

If the Cardinals are going to keep Kyler Murray around, they have to do a better job protecting him. Arizona addressed the line last offseason by acquiring center Rodney Hudson, but Max Garcia is a free agent and Justin Pugh could be on the chopping block.

Atlanta Falcons: Defense

Atlanta has had one of the worst defenses in the league for the last four seasons and needs to remake the unit. They allowed the fourth-most points in the NFL last season, and have major needs at all three levels.

Baltimore Ravens: Defensive Line

The Ravens need to get younger on the offensive line as they try to replace veterans Calais Campbell, Brandon Williams, and Justin Houston. They have done a great job over the years producing talented players in the front seven, so fans should have trust they will strike gold again in the 2022 draft.

Buffalo Bills: Offensive Line

The Bills' front office identified the offensive line as a need early in the draft. The team would like to bully opponents again, which will require more young depth and push in the running game.

Carolina Panthers: Quarterback

The Panthers have gone through multiple starting quarterbacks since Matt Rhule came on board in 2020, yet they are no closer to finding an answer. It's clear that Sam Darnold and Cam Newton aren't viable options, so the team could turn to the draft for their long-term solution.

Chicago Bears: Offensive Line

Justin Fields was regularly running for his life in his rookie season with an offensive line that got old quickly. The team particularly has issues on the right side with James Daniels and Germain Ifedi entering free agency.

Cincinnati Bengals: Offensive Line

Joe Burrow was battered and bruised throughout the regular season and into the playoffs due to sub-par offensive line play. Cincinnati has a lot of work to do, finding new guards and a right tackle to help protect Burrow.

Cleveland Browns: Wide Receiver

The trade of Odell Beckham Jr. was just the tip of the iceberg for Cleveland at wideout. Jarvis Landry is now past his prime, and the young duo of Donovan Peoples-Jones and Anthony Schwartz aren't ready to make a big contribution just yet. Cleveland could be eyeing a No. 1 wideout in this year's draft.

Dallas Cowboys: Offensive Line

Dallas Cowboys: Offensive Line

The Cowboys had the best offensive line in football recently, but it's become an issue more recently. Left guard Connor Williams is a free agent, and left tackle Tyron Smith has had trouble staying healthy. At the very least, the team needs more young depth.

Denver Broncos: Quarterback

Quarterback has been a problem for Denver since Peyton Manning's retirement, and the team is in the market again after failing to make the playoffs with Teddy Bridgewater last season. The answer might not be in this year's quarterback class, but the Broncos owe to their fans to try.

Detroit Lions: Wide Receiver

Wideout was clearly a weakness after the Lions lost Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones last offseason, and looks like an even bigger issue with Josh Reynolds, Kalif Raymond and KhaDarel Hodge as free agents. Amon-Ra St. Brown is a nice player to build around, but Jared Goff needs many more weapons.

Green Bay Packers: Linebacker

Green Bay's roster is generally in good shape, but the possible departure of tackling machine De'Vondre Campbell would create a huge void at linebacker. The Packers have some nice options in 2022 draft to replace him, fortunately.

Houston Texans: Everything

Houston's roster remains in shambles, and it's unclear if even second-year quarterback Davis Mills is the answer. The Texans should be in the business of selecting the best player available as they rebuild.

Indianapolis Colts: Quarterback

The Carson Wentz experiment didn't work out for the Colts last season, and ownership has all but demanded the team address the quarterback position. It's been a struggle since Andrew Luck's retirement and remains to be seen if the Colts can find anyone to take them to the next level.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Offensive Line

Protecting Trevor Lawrence was a huge problem last season, and the Jaguars could lose the left side of their offensive line in free agency. Jacksonville certainly has the draft capital to address the issues with the first overall pick for the second consecutive season.

Kansas City Chiefs: Pass Rush

The Chiefs struggled to close out games last season due in part to a lack of pass rush. The team is likely to cut Frank Clark and could also lose Melvin Ingram in free agency. They desperately need pass rushers to help Chris Jones.

Las Vegas Raiders: Offensive Line

Vegas lost multiple offensive linemen last offseason, and it showed on the field. They need to address multiple offensive line spots this offseason, including a right tackle to replace Brandon Parker.

Los Angeles Chargers: Defensive Line

Joey Bosa remains one of the most potent pass rushers in the game, but the Chargers pass rusher has struggled somewhat without his former partner in crime, Melvin Ingram. LA could use another premium pass rusher to aid Bosa and help the defense close out games.

Los Angeles Rams: Offensive Line

The Rams don't have much draft capital, but could still find some help for their offensive line. They could lose two offensive line starters in free agency, and ancient left tackle Andrew Whitworth could also need replacing.

Miami Dolphins: Offensive Line

Miami has spent significant draft capital on the offensive line recently, but the jury is still out on many of their additions. They could use more competition, particularly on the right side of the line, as they look to install Mike McDaniel's new offense.

Minnesota Vikings: Secondary

Minnesota's secondary was a complete mess last year, and they will undergo major turnover this offseason with Patrick Peterson, Xavier Woods, and Mackensie Alexander pending free agents. The team also must find a long-term replacement for Harrison Smith.

New England Patriots: Offensive Line

Bill Belichick seems to fix his offensive line each offseason without much trouble, but the team faces a challenge with the possibility of losing Trent Brown and Ted Karras. The Patriots should at least prioritize right tackle as they hope to better protect Mac Jones.

New Orleans Saints: Quarterback

New Orleans Saints: Quarterback

The Saints had trouble replacing Drew Brees last year between Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill. They don't have the money to make a splash for a veteran, so drafting a talented rookie could be their go-to route.

24 of 32

New York Giants: Offensive Line

New York Giants: Offensive Line

The Giants have struggled to fix their offensive line recently, but maybe a new front office will have better luck. New York could lose three starters in free agency, and particularly need to do something about the right side of their line to help protect Daniel Jones.

New York Jets: Defense

Quinnen Williams is a clear foundational player for the Jets defense, but they don't have much around him. The team struggled in Robert Saleh's first season at the helm, ranking dead last in points and yards allowed, and will be looking to add talent at all three levels in the draft.

Philadelphia Eagles: Defensive Backs

The Eagles have tons of draft capital to address their holes, but none are more dire than the secondary. The team is faced with losing three starters to free agency and particularly needs to do something about safety.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Quarterback

The Steelers can no longer hope that a long-term starting quarterback to replace Ben Roethlisberger will just fall from the sky. Mason Rudolph clearly isn't the long-term answer, but it remains to be seen if there is an answer in this year's draft.

San Francisco 49ers: Defensive Backs

The 49ers had major issues with their defensive backs last year and could be set to lose Josh Norman, K'Waun Williams, and Jaquiski Tartt in free agency. It's time for the 49ers to add more youth in the secondary.

Seattle Seahawks: Defensive Backs

Seattle's secondary looks like a mess heading into the offseason, potentially losing all four starters in free agency. They are likely to retain some of the talent, but Seattle will certainly have some new faces. With the organization's proven ability to develop defensive back talent under Pete Carroll, fans should be excited about the possibilities in the draft.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Quarterback

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Quarterback

Quarterback is one of many priorities for a Buccaneers roster that has been dismantled due to free agency and retirements this offseason. The quarterback is always the top priority, as the Bucs look to replace Tom Brady somehow.

Tennessee Titans: Offensive Line

Tennessee Titans: Offensive Line

Tennessee's offensive line went downhill fast, with left tackle Taylor Lewan getting old quickly and multiple issues elsewhere. The Titans could have at least two starting roles to fill as they hope to protect Ryan Tannehill better.

Washington Commanders: Quarterback

Washington Commanders: Quarterback

Washington opted to sign Ryan Fitzpatrick last offseason rather than bring in a young quarterback, so they are forced to find another signal-caller this offseason. Taylor Heinicke doesn't look like the answer, but he could at least give a young quarterback time to develop.
