On Thursday, the New York Jets formally told Aaron Rodgers that he will not be their starting quarterback in 2025 and beyond. With Rodgers now slated to go elsewhere, fans have exactly one destination in mind for him.
This past weekend NFL insider Jay Glazer reported that the Jets' top brass met with Rodgers personally to discuss his future with the team. At the end of the meeting, the team reached the conclusion to part ways with him. The rumors turned to reality this morning when the Jets made the announcement official.
"We have informed Aaron Rodgers that we will be moving in a different direction at quarterback," the Jets posted on X this morning.

As far as Rodgers' next destination goes, fans all want him to go to one place: The Minnesota Vikings.
It's largely for memes as former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre similarly went to the Jets in a trade, played one full season for them and subsequently went to the Minnesota Vikings to finish his NFL career.
"Rodgers is totally going to land with the Vikings and complete the Brett Favre career path," one user wrote.
"To the Vikings he goes (not really, but it would be hilarious to see Rodgers complete Favre's career arc ) SAY IT WITH ME, EVERYONE! "
"just get the Aaron Rodgers in a vikings jersey edit out now. Brett Farve trajectory arc on some work rn."
"Aaron Rodgers in a Vikings jersey next year would feed families. #AaronRodgers #Jets #Vikings #NFL," a fourth remarked.
Rodgers wound up playing just the 2024 season plus a handful of snaps in the 2023 season before a season-ending injury on his second drive of the year. The team went just 12-22 over the past two seasons, firing head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas in the process.
The Jets have since since hired Aaron Glenn as their new head coach and Darren Mougey as their general manager. The two have been determined to change the culture of the team and seem to believe that moving on from Rodgers will allow them to do so.
Time will be the judge of that.
