For a third straight offseason, defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded on Tuesday.
The recent Super Bowl champion was shipped off by the Philadelphia Eagles to the Houston Texans for guard Kenyon Green.
The safety revealed on TikTok that he was in utter shock when he learned of the news, but he reiterated that there is no "bad blood" between him and the Eagles.
“I ain’t going to lie to y’all, I thought it was April Fools. I ain’t gon’ lie," Gardner-Johnson said.

The trade offers reasonable value to respective needs on both sides: Philadelphia is trading an experienced and versatile safety to Houston to help replace Eric Murray. It is acquiring a former first-round pick in Kenyon Green, who could benefit from a fresh start elsewhere.
"I saw 3/1 and I was like, man, this is April Fools, they damn sure got me, they playin’ crazy with me right now," Gardner-Johnson said. "But nah, wasn’t no love lost, wasn’t no bad blood, it was a great phone call. Great phone call. It was an amazing phone call, to be all the way thorough. Great phone call."
Gardner-Johnson, who had 59 combined tackles, six interceptions and a touchdown, acknowledged that he realizes the organization's priority is about the long-term future.
"Situation is, them young guys gotta get paid in Philly. Jalen Carter, Reed [Blankenship], Zack [Baun]. All them guys gotta get their money, they deserve it. Me getting older, so I gotta understand, like, there was no bad blood," Gardner-Johnson said.
"There was none. (Expletive), all I asked them was like, between me and y’all, like I told them, I just want to go somewhere where I can play winning football. I ain’t ask for a specific place. This is honesty. I just want to play winning football. Other than that, you know, I woke up the next day and, boom, there it is. So, (expletive), we in Houston."
