Ex-Falcons WR Harry Douglas claims Jared Goff’s Lions will be the biggest threat to Chiefs’ three-peat
Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Kansas City Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes have now become a dynasty after winning 3 Super Bowls in the last 5 years. Furthermore, with the back-to-back championships in the last two seasons, the team has created history. In addition, the team will be going for more in the coming seasons. They have a target of completing a three-peat (three consecutive championships) and in the coming season, they will strive for that.

In this present context, a pertinent question is arising. Who will be stopping the Chiefs from having three back-to-back championships? Is it the Cincinnati Bengals with a healthy Joe Burrow? Or is it someone else?

During a recent episode of the ESPN show, First Take , former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas believes that it will be Jared Goff who can stop the mighty Chiefs from winning three straight championships. The Detroit Lions showed immense character and persistence on the turf last season and won the hearts of the fans and analysts.

After three decades, the team managed to win a playoff game and marched onto the NFC Championship round. The iconic duo of Jared Goff along with the head coach Dan Campbell did the magic for them. They even started their journey by beating the Kansas City Chiefs in the first game of the 2023 season. All these things considered, the analyst claimed that it will be the Lions who will stop the Chiefs.

I am gonna go to NFC. I am going to a team that went to 17 points up against the San Francisco 49ers and that's the Detroit Lions. When I look at this team when you look at Jarred Goff at the quarterback positions, he understands what it takes to beat a guy like Patrick Mahomes. Harry Douglas said in a recent episode of First Take

Harry Douglas remembers Jared Goff’s legacy with the Los Angeles Rams

In the interview, Harry Douglas claimed that Jared Goff showed a phenomenal display in the first game, last season. Despite acknowledging the fact that multiple players Chiefs players were absent in the game, Douglas remembered Goff’s legacy game against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, when he was part of the Los Angeles Rams team.

But I am going back to the days at Los Angeles Rams when Jared Goff had the shootout. So Jared Goff had played Patrick Mahomes a few times against the quarterback and he understands how to play against him. Harry Douglas said

From last season onwards, the Detroit Lions have triggered hope among the fans. Goff has done a great job in Detroit. It is to be seen whether they can achieve some new heights in the coming season.
