Ex-Raiders OC Luke Getsy Reportedly Lands New NFL Job

When the Las Vegas Raiders hired Luke Getsy as offensive coordinator last year, it was met with a lot of pushback from fans. It turns out the fans were right as the Raiders had one of the worst offenses in the NFL in 2024 and Getsy was fired halfway through the season.

He also did a poor job calling plays for the Chicago Bears and was fired by them prior to taking the Raiders job. The one NFL stop Getsy had success at was with the Green Bay Packers. He spent several years there as an offensive assistant and it looks like he's heading back.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Getsy has been hired by the Packers to serve as a senior offensive assistant. This is a logical landing spot for him as he's unlikely to get an offensive coordinator job anytime soon.

He was with the team from 2014 to 2017 and then again from 2019 to 2021. He knows Matt LaFleur's offense well and should be a valuable assistant for him. Getsy is not a strong playcaller but he has had success coaching quarterbacks and wide receivers in the past. While he's just a general offensive assistant, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Packers have him work mostly with quarterbacks and wide receivers again.
