Exciting Jaylen Waddle Development Revealed Before Dolphins-Patriots

The Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots face off on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. Each team is looking for its first win of the 2025 season.

It appeared the Dolphins' offense was set to take a big hit, with wide receiver Jaylen Waddle being listed as a limited participant for Wednesday and Thursday practices due to a shoulder injury.

After recording just 211 total yards against the Indianapolis Colts last week, losing a threat such as Waddle would be a big setback.

However, the Dolphins received an exciting update on Friday, with NFL Network's Tom Pelissero revealing the wide receiver was officially off the injury report.

It's a huge development, as Waddle has carved out a comfortable role as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's second option at wide receiver behind Tyreek Hill.

He's also looking to have a bounce-back season after hitting career lows in receptions (58), yards (744) and touchdowns (two) in 2024.

He even reflected on his dip in numbers, telling ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques, "definitely the year that I didn't want as an individual."

So far, though, Waddle is off to another slow start, hauling in just four receptions for 30 yards in the Dolphins' season opener against the Colts.

However, he and the rest of Miami's offense are given the chance to bounce back against the Patriots and take down their AFC East rivals.

Waddle and Hill have been given an even larger upper hand, with New England ruling out star cornerback Christian Gonzalez due to a hamstring injury.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET and will be aired on CBS. The Dolphins currently sit as 1.5-point favorites, according to ESPN BET.
