Falcons add several players via waivers

Abdullah is a linebacker who spent the first three years of his career with the Jaguars, where he was primarily a special teams contributor. I wouldn’t expect that to change in Atlanta, but this could mean the end of the JD Bertrand era, as Bertrand was a bit of a shocking addition to the initial 53-man roster.

Ivey is an addition to a Falcons edge room that was looking especially thin following the decision to cut Azeez Ojulari yesterday. He’s a Georgia native who spent time at Georgia Tech and Ole Miss before cracking the Seahawks roster last season as an undrafted free agent. Given the Falcons’ lack of depth at the position, there’s a very plausible path for him to get playing time if he sticks.

Williams is a Texas product who was taken in the sixth round last year by the Philadelphia Eagles. The Falcons could use more depth at tackle after parting ways with Wanya Morris, and now Williams gets an opportunity to develop under a legendary offensive line coach in Bill Callahan.
