Falcons add to wide receiver room with free agent signings
John Jones-USA TODAY Sports

The bottom of the Falcons roster continues to churn. Most recently, it is a couple of additions to the receiver room, according to Aaron Wilson — Daylen Baldwin and Odieu Hiliare.

The former undrafted free agent, Baldwin, has spent time with the Browns and Vikings since entering the NFL two years ago.

He only has two receptions for 25 yards to his name, and the production at Michigan matches. Baldwin doesn’t have the easiest road to making the final 53-man roster, but it begins and ends on special teams.

In two years, Hiliare recorded 1,279 yards and 10 touchdowns on 103 receptions for the Bowling Green Falcons. Much like Baldwin, Hiliare’s only hope of making the roster is via special teams (and luck).

The Falcons are clearly still monitoring the free agent market, and as Jessie Bates alluded to earlier in the week, Terry Fontenot might not be done adding to the roster.

The receiver room isn’t the one that needs addressing, though. The Falcons’ secondary, particularly the cornerback unit, is filled with more questions than answers. A proven commodity at corner would ease a lot of concerns.
