After adding three players via waivers, the Atlanta Falcons announced they have waived 2023 third-round pick Zach Harrison, along with Natrone Brooks and Jammie Robinson.
We have made the following roster moves:
– Claimed Yasir Abdullah, Jared Ivey and Cameron Williams off waivers
– Waived Natrone Brooks, Zach Harrison and Jammie Robinsonhttps://t.co/aT6WRiYY9j pic.twitter.com/nr7MSWBqre

File this one under the most shocking decision from the Falcons’ new regime thus far. Harrison is still on his rookie contract and is coming off a season in which he was incredibly productive, recording 4.5 sacks and five tackles for loss in just seven games before going down with injury.
“He does all the right things,” Falcons defensive line coach Nate Ollie said of Harrison earlier this week. “You just want him to stay healthy.”
I have to imagine this move has something to do with information the public doesn’t have about the severity of his injuries. Otherwise, it just doesn’t make any sense. An argument could be made that a healthy Zach Harrison is one of the Falcons’ best interior defensive linemen. He wasn’t even on the roster-bubble radar.
We’ll see if more emerges later in the week, but this is a shocker.
