Falcons Have Many Decisions To Make Before The Draft

As the Falcons prepare for what should be a defense-heavy draft for them, there are still many questions that are completely answered. Reports about Kyle Pitts being traded to the New York Jets for a higher first-round pick have been flying in but no sign of the trigger being pulled yet.

The other question that needs to be answered is what is going on with Kirk Cousins and what the Falcons want to do with him and the contract. Trade rumors have been stemming since the beginning of the offseason including a potential Steelers trade or Cleveland Browns trade. The Browns will not take on Cousins' contract especially with Deshaun Watson still owed all of that money.

These two players will be the talk of the Falcons for weeks to come until the draft arrives, and new faces join the roster. It will also open up cap room and could potentially even land more draft picks in upcoming drafts.

The Falcons Need To Make Decisions Soon

The team has been pretty stagnant throughout the offseason and now it's time to change that approach and make some decisions regarding these two players. Pitts has been struggling to adjust to the NFL since joining the team in 2021 and has yet to score more than 5 touchdowns in a single season. Cousins also had his worst statistical season as a full-time starter, and this is not very shocking as he came off an Achilles injury and switched offensive schemes.

This will be heavily covered as decisions are being made, and the Falcons will continue to have to answer the tough questions.
