The Falcons currently have one of the longest active playoff droughts in the NFL, as they have not made the playoffs since two seasons after they made the super bowl. In five out of the last seven seasons, the Falcons have won 7 games while last season they won 8, meaning they have been just short of the mark.
The draft has been able to bring the Falcons a bright future over the last few years as they have chosen Michael Penix Jr., Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Kyle Pitts, A.J. Terrell, Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr., all in just the first round. They have also brought in veterans over the last few seasons to help out the young stars.
Due to the new additions in the draft and free agency, as well as star players coming off breakout seasons, there are a lot of new expectations for this team. They were impressive in ways throughout 2024 and now look to improve even more for next season.
Penix, Robinson and London all look to lead this offense to a playoff-level season, while the defense looks to improve from 2024 where they struggled and were bottom five in the league. Improving both the defensive line and secondary in the draft was a huge success for the team and now they look to show it on the field.
2025 could be the start of a very bright future for this franchise that has not had much to celebrate over time. There is a lot in stake this season, and the Falcons can impress a lot of people and exceed expectations.
