Falcons ink Bradley Pinion to three-year deal
Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons entered the offseason with the second most cap space in the league, and they’re acting like it on the first day of NFL free agency. They acquired Jonnu Smith via trade to start the day, extended Chris Lindstrom — making him the highest paid guard in the league — and re-signed Keith Smith, signed defensive tackle David Onyemata, and now they’ve reached a three-year deal with their punter Bradley Pinion.

Bradley Pinion was a steal after he was released by the Bucs last year. He averaged 45.9 yards per punt and helped the Falcons to one of the best special teams unit in football. It’s an often overlooked aspect of the game, but they are a critical piece to winning football. Punter is a position the Falcons have struggled with since departing with Matt Bosher. They are making sure that situation doesn’t happen again by signing Pinion for three more years.
