Falcons Lose Another Crucial Defensive Presence
USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Falcons lost a linebacker to the Los Angeles Rams.

Ex-Atlanta Falcons linebacker Nate Landman agreed to a one-year deal with the Rams on Tuesday. Landman signed with Atlanta in 2022 out of the University of Colorado as an undrafted free agent.

Since making the Falcons active 53-man roster, Landman would be relied on heavily during the last three seasons, playing in a total of 36 games and starting in 23 of them.

Landman's most productive year came in 2023 when he started 14 games and recorded 110 tackles (66 solo), three forced fumbles, two sacks and one interception. The Falcons would decline his tender as a restricted free agent for $3.2 million.

Landman, who is now 26 years old, will get a fresh start in Los Angeles. He hopes to continue his productivity for a Rams squad that is also trying to bolster its defensive side of the football.

Recently, the Falcons signed former Raiders linebacker Divine Deablo to breathe some new life and athleticism into the second level of the defense. However, the team has yet to sign Matthew Judon, Dee Alford, Lorenzo Carter, and Justin Simmons on the defense.

Fans are wondering what the team will do with some of the guys mentioned above if they do not have much wiggle room for cap space. The Falcons are expected to continue the theme of concentrating on defense when the NFL Draft starts in April. The team is looking at a couple of prospects at the edge position and getting some help across the field from A.J. Terrell.
