After being nearly at full strength not long ago, the Falcons are now dealing with a few significant injuries leading into their Week 1 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The situation at right tackle has been well-documented. Kaleb McGary is out for the season, and backup swing tackle Storm Norton will miss around 6-8 weeks after undergoing ankle surgery. That has the Falcons down to their third string right tackle, which looks to be Elijah Wilkinson at the moment.
On the defensive side, Raheem Morris also told the media on Thursday that second-year pass rusher Bralen Trice will begin the season on the IR after aggravating the same knee that forced him to miss all of last season.

Trice is eligible to return, with the Falcons saying he could be back after the team’s Week 5 bye week. However, the worst case scenario is he misses another season. Trice has not played a snap for the team since he was drafted after suffering a torn ACL in the preseason last year.
On the bright side of things, Darnell Mooney, who injured his shoulder on the first day of training camp, is back at practice.

It looks like Mooney will be a go against the Bucs, which is a massive development. Tampa Bay has a very vulnerable secondary, something Mooney helped expose last year, going for nearly 200 yards and three touchdowns in two games.
