Falcons reportedly open to trading No. 4 pick in 2021 NFL Draft

The Atlanta Falcons are reportedly open to trading back in the upcoming draft and, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team has received calls "from multiple teams" asking about trading up to the fourth pick.

The Falcons hold perhaps the most valuable pick in the draft at the moment at No. 4, as they are the first team that is not all but guaranteed to take a quarterback with its pick. The Jaguars have basically admitted that they are taking Trevor Lawrence No. 1 overall and the Jets and 49ers are both expected to take quarterbacks as well.

For a team that is desperate to grab one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the draft, that means that the Falcons are the best shot at ensuring they don't miss out. And for Atlanta, this could mean getting a huge bundle of valuable picks that would help improve the roster, rather than simply taking the best player available.

Perhaps the most interesting part of this report from Schefter is that it does seem to indicate that the Falcons are sticking with veteran quarterback Matt Ryan this season, rather than trying to draft a rookie to replace him, which is what some speculated might happen.
