Falcons standout rookie suffers Achilles injury

According to Falcons beat reporter Tori McElhaney, Falcons standout rookie cornerback Billy Bowman Jr. suffered an Achilles injury during walk through on Friday.

The Falcons’ 2025 campaign has quickly turned into a horror story after initially being filled with so much promise. Just six weeks ago, the team was flying high, sitting at 3-2 after a huge Monday Night Football win over the Bills. Since then, they’ve lost five straight, their starting quarterback suffered a torn ACL, and key contributors are dropping left and right.

Billy Bowman Jr. has been about as good as anyone could’ve reasonably expected from a rookie fourth-round pick. In six games, he’s posted 26 tackles, two passes defended, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble while serving as the team’s starting nickel corner.

If it is indeed a torn Achilles, that typically means a 12-month recovery timeline. Not only will Bowman miss the rest of this season, but he could also miss a significant portion of next year. The quicker this season ends, the better it will be for everyone who cares about this team.
