The Falcons had so many questions about this offseason that have finally been answered thanks to the draft and free agency. It all starts with how they managed to put together a very good draft by filling in key pieces that they needed.
The only big issue still haunting the Falcons is that of the contract of Kirk Cousins that can haunt the team for years to come if something does not get done about it. The team has their stars in order and under contract for the next few seasons.
The Falcons come off a season where they went 8-9 and missed the playoffs once again. They had one of the worst defenses in the league and failed to get to the quarterback at a consistent rate and also was bottom five in interceptions.
The Falcons have spent all offseason trying to work out deals for players like Cousins and Kyle Pitts who have both been underwhelming but have yet to find anything for either player. Pitts would have been easier to move because of his contract but he has one more chance to prove his worth in Atlanta.
During the offseason the Falcons let go of veteran Grady Jarrett and brought in some replacements during the draft, they also signed a backup quarterback in Easton Stick who has proved to be a good backup in the league.
The Falcons have done their bidding and have found the team that they want and believe can compete for years to come as their young stars itch closer to their primes.
