Fans react to Dolphins beating Patriots with 'Miracle in Miami'

The Miami Dolphins defeated the New England Patriots on Sunday with the help of a play that instantly became one of the most famous in NFL and franchise history.

Trailing 33-28 with just six seconds left, the Dolphins had the ball at their own 31-yard line with one more shot at scoring a touchdown to win the game. Ryan Tannehill completed a pass over the middle to Kenny Stills, who lateraled the ball to DeVante Parker, who then tossed it to Kenyan Drake. The running back took it all the way to the end zone for the win.

The play was instantly dubbed the “Miracle in Miami” or the “Miami Miracle.” We’ll have to let it play out to see which one sticks, but the reactions on social media were as enthusiastic as you might expect.

The Patriots had a chance to clinch the AFC East title with a win over the Dolphins, but that will have to wait. It’s going to take a while to get over the way they lost in Miami.
