Fantasy ballers: Best WR bets for Week 12

Looking for a fantasy player to carry your team to the playoffs? You’d be hard-pressed to find better options than these three in Week 12. (Points and projections via Yahoo Sports)

Jerry Jeudy (WR) Cleveland Browns

The Browns host the Steelers on Thursday and while Pittsburgh may have the NFL’s third-best run defense, their pass defense is just average, allowing the 15th-most yards per game (214.5) through the air.

With Deshaun Watson as the team’s quarterback through the first eight games, Jeudy did very little with 6.2 targets and 8.5 fantasy points per contest. But in two games with Jameis Winston throwing passes, the Browns are averaging 120.5 more passing yards per game, allowing Jeudy to put up his best fantasy numbers of the season.

Cleveland’s leading receiver has seen exactly 11 targets in each of the last two games. Last week he caught six of them for a season-high 142 yards, a touchdown and 26.2 the fifth-most fantasy points (26.2) among wide receivers.

Jauan Jennings (WR) San Francisco 49ers

Like Jeudy, Jennings has seen exactly 11 targets in each of the last two games and is also his team’s leading receiver. He scored 25.1 fantasy points after catching 10 passes for 91 yards and a score against Seattle in Week 11 after putting up 93 yards against Tampa Bay in Week 10.

Even before the team lost wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, Jennings was having the best season of his four-year career. He’s finished as the leading receiver in the team’s last two games and has three more touchdowns (four) and 98 more yards on the season teammate Deebo Samuel.

Keep an eye on quarterback Brock Purdy who appeared on this week’s injury report with a sore shoulder, but as long as opponents remain focused on stopping Samuel and running back Christian McCaffrey, Jennings should put up big numbers against the Packers on Sunday.

Ladd McConkey (WR) L.A. Chargers

The talented rookie is currently the NFL’s 19th-leading receiver, eight yards and one touchdown ahead of Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, the league’s 20th-leading receiver and No. 6 pick in this year’s draft. McConkey went early in the second round and wasted no time by scoring 14.9 fantasy points and a touchdown in his first NFL game.

Since then he’s put up a pair of 100-yard games including a career-high 123 yard performance against the Bengals last week. This week he’ll face a Ravens secondary that continues to allow a league-worst 284.5 yards per game.

Baltimore also allows the most fantasy points per game (42.9) to wide receivers and with quarterback Justin Herbert looking more comfortable in offensive coordinator Greg Roman’s system, McConkey could easily have his third 100-yard game of the season.
