The top players in fantasy football are often the typical names expected at the beginning of the season. These are some names that look to change that trend and look to overtake their higher-ranked counterparts.

QB: Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow is in the perfect situation for him to be the fantasy QB1 this season. His challengers for this spot are the typical names like Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. Both of those teams have either a run game that will balance out their passing attack or a defense that will hold opponents to low scores and let the offense run the ball late.

Burrow has neither of these and should be throwing the ball all game long. Jamaar Chase and Tee Higgins are the best duo the NFL has and could lead Burrow to the top spot in fantasy this season.

RB: Bijan Robinson

Bijan Robinson is not exactly an underdog to be the top RB, but the truth is, there isn’t much competition for him. He should see a high volume of touches and will see lots of targets out of the backfield.

Robinson is one of the top picks in many fantasy drafts for obvious reasons. His ability, mixed with his high volume in the Atlanta Falcons offense, makes him the clear-cut RB1.

WR: Malik Nabers

Malik Nabers is a top receiver and is in a great spot to take a jump. He will see a big leap in quarterback production, no matter who is under center for the New York Giants.

Nabers will be the clear number one target in the Giants’ offense. He was second in the NFL in targets last season, and with his improved QB play, he should see even more targets this year. His main competition for WR1 will be Jamaar Chase, but Nabers has no one to take touches away from him, whereas Chase has Tee Higgins as an elite WR2.

TE: Evan Engram

Evan Engram was a great TE option for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. He now moves on to the Denver Broncos, where he will be a popular fantasy option in late rounds. His upside is extremely intriguing and could lead him to being the top TE in fantasy this year.

Engram will be amongst the top options on Denver’s offense and could easily see the second most targets behind Courtland Sutton. TE is a weaker spot in fantasy this season, but Engram is certainly a bright spot late in drafts.

End Of My Fantasy Rant

These players are mostly sneaky contenders for the top spot at their respective positions in fantasy this season. Some positions may be obvious, as they usually are, but others are wide open for the taking. These players are in a great situation this year and could very well win people’s fantasy leagues.
