Week two of the NFL season is over, so it’s time for fantasy football players to raid the waiver wire. These players could come up big down the stretch when filling in for lineup regulars.
Elic Ayomanor was a training camp gem for the Tennessee Titans, and he has carried that momentum into the NFL regular season. He has solidified himself as a starting receiver opposite Calvin Ridley.
Ayomanor has been targeted 13 times through two games, including his first career touchdown reception on Sunday. He seems to have great chemistry with rookie QB Cam Ward, and that connection has been fantastic through two weeks. His role should grow as his rookie campaign goes on, making him a great receiver to have on fantasy rosters.
Troy Franklin has benefited from an unknown Denver Broncos receiver core and a long-time connection with Bo Nix. After a great week two performance, he became the Broncos’ leader in receiving yards.
Franklin looks to be a favorite target of Nix this season, indicating his production should stay high. He should be added in many fantasy leagues, especially if a team is in need of a quick plug-in receiver.
Blake Corum is a must-roster in fantasy football after week two. He is potentially the best handcuff RB in all of football, and showed he can make an impact even when Kyren Williams is healthy.
Corum had five carries on Sunday, including his first career rushing touchdown. His primary workload came from around the goal line, and if that is maintained, he could be a fringe flex player every week. Regardless, his upside in case of an injury to Williams makes him a necessity on fantasy rosters.
Zach Ertz just never stops producing. His career has been fantastic and, in his age 34 season, he is showing no signs of slowing down. He has remained a top target of Jayden Daniels’ through two weeks of the season.
Ertz has been targeted 13 times this season and has hauled in a touchdown in each game. His upside may not be as high as other tight ends, but his floor makes him a fantastic play in fantasy.
This week’s waiver wire is much better than the scraps we were left with after week one. A lot of intriguing names are available and could warrant a bench spot for the time being. These players are good additions to teams that have had players go down with injury or simply have an open spot on the bench.
