Fantasy football Week 14: Four players who could flop

Whether you're fighting for a playoff spot or battling for a higher playoff seed, Week 14 in the NFL is a crucial one for fantasy football managers. You can't afford to slip up this week, so here are some players who could fall short of their projections.

Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jones is playing through a fractured fibula right now, which severely limits his rushing upside. The Colts QB rushed just once for one yard last week against the Houston Texans, and fantasy managers might just have to get used to those rushing stat lines going forward.

Jones is projected to score 17.24 points against the Jags, but he's gone under that mark in four straight starts. There are higher-upside options available.

Las Vegas Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty vs. Denver Broncos

There's no reason Jeanty should be projected to score 15.85 points in Week 14. For one, the Raiders offensive line is in shambles, as Jeanty has averaged just 2.3 yards per rush in his last three games. Jeanty's receiving work is the only thing keeping him fantasy relevant, but the Broncos are allowing just 2.7 catches and 25.4 receiving yards per game to opposing running backs this season.

Denver also ranks second in yards allowed per rush (3.7), so it's hard to imagine Jeanty having much success in this matchup.

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson vs. Washington Commanders

If you still have the option to trade players, you should do everything you can to swap Jefferson for another player before the playoffs. Due to Minnesota's dreadful quarterback play, Jefferson has averaged only 3.7 catches, 37.5 yards and 7.5 fantasy points per game over the last four weeks.

Whether it's J.J. McCarthy or Max Brosmer, Jefferson will likely struggle to crack double-digit fantasy points even against a weak Commanders secondary.

Los Angeles Chargers TE Oronde Gadsden II vs. Philadelphia Eagles

After a strong stretch in the middle of the season, Gadsden has come back to earth recently. The rookie tight end has scored just 4.3, 6.1 and 3.7 PR points in his last three games, and he's coming off a one-catch performance against the Raiders. This isn't a great matchup for him to get back on track, as the Eagles rank fourth in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to tight ends.
