Eagles fans may need to adjust their fantasy lineups heading into Week 3. Per Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport, Brown is listed as a "sit 'em" along with New York Jets Wide Receiver Garrett Wilson.
"Brown has been invisible so far this year—six catches for 35 yards in two games. The 28-year-old isn't going to stay on the side of a milk carton all season long, but this week's matchup with the Rams could be another tricky one—the Rams have given up the eighth-fewest PPR points to wide receivers in the early going this season."
Brown's performance came under scrutiny in Week 1, when the beloved wide receiver received only one target. The Eagles seemingly tried to get Brown a bit more involved in the game plan, as in Week 2, Brown had eight targets for five receptions for 27 yards.
The Eagles have only thrown the ball 45 times this season, with quarterback Jalen Hurts currently ranked 31st in passing yards (253) this year. For some added context, Mac Jones (29th) has thrown for 279 yards in one game, Brock Purdy (30th) threw for 277 yards in his lone start, with Jake Browning (241) and Justin Fields (245) within 12 yards of Hurts despite not playing in two full games like Hurts has.
From the bigger picture, Brown, despite dealing with injuries in the preseason, seems to be healthy, and his "statistical" drop-off is more a circumstance of the Eagles' dominating rushing attack. Of the 120 offensive plays the Eagles have run, 72 have been rushing attempts. With the Eagles' success on the ground, the need to go through the air doesn't seem like a priority at this time.
Brown and the Eagles are slated to take on the Los Angeles Rams, who have given up the eighth-fewest PPR points to wide receivers in the early going this season. The Eagles' current receiving leaders are DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert, who both have seven receptions apiece, with Goedert not playing in the Eagles' Week 2 matchup.
Regardless of what Eagles fans expect out of Brown, Philadelphia is currently 2-0, looking to continue its dominance against the Rams this Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
