Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, after weeks of back and forth, made the decision to return in 2025 after many thought he would retire.
His relationship with Taylor Swift was thought to be a big pro for hanging up the cleats, as the Grammy winner would not be touring in 2025, so it was the ideal time for the pair to plan the next phase of their lives.
Well, that will have to wait 12 months.
A source who spoke to Radar Online has spoken about how scared Swift is of what Kelce playing on in 2025 could do to their relationship.
"Taylor is really gripped by fear over which way he's going to jump because it has big ramifications for their relationship, but also, it is totally his call," the source said. "Travis is totally adamant that Taylor would never pressure him into anything, insisting she’ll support whatever he decides – but let’s be real, it’s no secret she’s itching to settle down."
"Gripped by fear'' seems a bit melodramatic to us.
"Itching to settle down''? For the pair of 35-year-olds, that sounds about right.
With the NFL season taking up a lot of Kelce's time, we aren't sure how much will be left for Taylor. Considering she wants to settle down and begin the next phase of their lives, it isn't an ideal situation.
Plus, we have the Super Bowl booing incident and now Kelce returning, things appear to be getting a little sticky for the couple.
But there is a sense that they will navigate this and come out the other side and start the family that Swift wants. It just won't be on her timeline.
