This is the first in a series of articles providing an in-depth analysis of each position group on the Green Bay Packers for 2025. We will start with the quarterbacks. The grades will be for each unit as a whole, but we will provide analysis of each player, their strengths and weaknesses and a quick analysis of where they stand heading into the offseason. Here are the final grades for the Packers quarterbacks in 2025, a unit that raised their game this season. The marks are based on a combination of expectations and performance. The average grade is C+.

The Packers finished 18th in the NFL in passing yards on the season and 16th in the league in points scored with 391.

Final Grades for the 2025 Packers Quarterbacks: Jordan Love

Jordan Love played 15 games this year. He missed one full game and parts of another due to a concussion and sat out the season finale to ensure he’d be healthy for the playoffs.

Love finished the season by completing 66.3 percent of his passes, up from 63.1 a year ago. He gained 3,381 yards passing, threw 23 touchdown passes and just six interceptions. His quarterback rating went up from 96.7 a year ago to 101.2 this year. Before suffering the concussion, he was in the discussion for league MVP.

Love has a strong arm and can make all the throws needed to be an elite quarterback. The former Utah State star has led the Packers to the playoffs in each of his three seasons as the starter. In the playoffs, he threw for 323 yards and four touchdowns without throwing an interception.

Love still isn’t a great running quarterback, but he does a good job of extended plays and avoiding sacks. He gained 199 yards on 47 carries this season.

For the season, Love ranked 6th in the league in quarterback rating and 14th in touchdown passes despite the games he missed.

Jordan Love Still Needs to Improve

Love still needs to improve his reads. At times, he overlooks open receivers and throws the ball to a receiver who is more tightly covered.

He improved his downfield accuracy this season but may still prefer to throw downfield more often than he should.

The Packers did finish the season 4-2 in the division and Love played well in the playoff game. He had a chance to win the game late and did well, although his receivers dropped some key passes. Still, Love must continue to prove he can come through in clutch moments.

Love has established himself as an elite quarterback in this league and is clearly top 10 and close to top five in the league.

Final Grades for the 2025 Packers Quarterbacks: The Backups

Malik Willis returned as the backup quarterback and had another strong season behind Love. Willis appeared in four games and started one. He dealt with a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the season finale.

Willis gives the offense another dimension because of his ability to run with the football. He ran 22 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns.

Willis also threw 35 passes and completed 30 of them for 422 yards and three touchdowns. He finished the season with a quarterback rating of 145.5.

After two seasons under Matt LaFleur, Willis has become one of the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL. He will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and will almost certainly leave Green Bay for a chance to start elsewhere.

Clayton Tune spent the season on the practice squad but was activated for the final two regular season games when injuries hit both Love and Willis. Tune wasn’t ready for extended action. He started the season finale, but the coaches didn’t have any confidence in him. He completed 7-of-15 passes for just 42 yards and one interception. His quarterback rating was just 25.7.

The Packers released Tune after the regular season finale and elevated Desmond Ridder to the active roster for the playoffs. He did not play in the game.

Final Grade for the 2025 Green Bay Packers Quarterbacks

Love elevated his game and is now considered a top 10 starter with the chance to rank higher next season. Willis may be the best backup in the league, but he won’t be back. A new backup will be needed here next season, but the Packers are set with their starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Grade: B+
