Three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has dominated the headlines this week for an unfortunate reason.

On Tuesday morning, the following X post from an account pretending to be Adam Schefter went viral: "After 10 seasons in the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr. has decided to retire. Beckham Jr. played for the Giants, Browns, Rams, Ravens, and Dolphins. He announced Tuesday." This post blew up on social media, receiving over 4.8 million views and 81,000 likes.

Beckham wasted no time addressing this rumor.

"Plz stop reading everything on the internet, and stop texting me happy retirement b4 u piss me off. That will get no response. I promise u the day I’m done I will let u kno. Again if u text me happy retirement im just gon have to block u. Thanks," Beckham wrote on X.

Roughly 24 hours later, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that Beckham plans on suiting up for a team this upcoming season.

"Three-time Pro Bowl WR Odell Beckham Jr. has drawn interest from several teams and plans to play somewhere in 2025, per source. As OBJ posted himself, he is not retiring, and he continues to train in anticipation of being on the field soon," Pelissero announced on Wednesday.

Beckham confirmed Pelissero's report by responding, "Ahhhh finally real news… much love."

Beckham spent the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins. He only appeared in nine games and had 55 receiving yards.

In 2023, Beckham was far more productive for the Baltimore Ravens. The veteran wideout had 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns.

While the days of Beckham being an elite weapon are over, he could help out a few teams that are lacking depth at wide receiver.
