Edwin M. Anzalone, better known to New York Jets fans as the superfan "Fireman Ed," clapped back at Pat McAfee and one of his co-hosts, Boston Connor, for unsavory comments on "The Pat McAfee Show."
A clip from Anzalone's podcast spliced his response to a recent segment on McAfee's show where Connor called Anzalone a sellout and not a real fan, with a couple of swear words mixed in. McAfee asked if Anzalone was a real fireman, which is where "Fireman Ed" unfurls his response.
Warning: put on your headphones.
On Wednesday’s @PatMcAfeeShow @BostonConnr had some ridiculous things to say about Fireman Ed.

Clearly, the insinuations that Anzalone was both not a real fireman and not a true Jets fan got under his skin. Connor claiming "stolen valor" may have been done in jest when it comes to Anzalone's fan gear - the Jets-themed fireman helmet, in particular - but people who were emergency responders of any stripe certainly wouldn't take too kindly to anyone questioning if they've ever worn a uniform.
Remember all of this when we have the inevitable sit-down on "The Pat McAfee Show" between the show hosts, the Jets superfan and the team's new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, courtesy of ESPN this fall.
