First game of the Bears 2025 schedule has been announced, and another game is likely on Christmas based on what happened in 2024

This game will be a big one for the Bears. Chicago has lost six consecutive home games against the Packers with the last win against the division rival at Soldier Field taking place back in 2018. However, the Bears were able to come away victorious in the previous matchup against the Bears in the 2024 regular season finale.

The Bears trip to Lambeau will likely take place earlier in the season, but don't quite rule out another Bears-Packers matchup at Lambeau in Week 18.

Though this is the first confirmed game on the Bears' 2025 schedule, we can narrow down another potential matchup based on what happened in 2024.

Bears could face an NFC East opponent on Christmas Day in 2025

In the Week 16 Saturday double-header in 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Houston Texans and the Pittsburgh Steelers faced the Baltimore Ravens. Four days later, the Chiefs faced the Steelers and the Ravens faced the Texans on Christmas Day.

Based on that logic, if the league decides to follow a similar blueprint with the scheduling, the Bears will be facing either the Eagles or Commanders on Christmas with the Packers playing against the other NFC East opponent.

The Bears are scheduled to play both the Eagles and Commanders on the road at some point in 2025. Both matchups will be huge for the Bears considering the Eagles are the reigning Super Bowl Champs and how eventful the Commanders-Bears game turned out to be in 2024 between Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels.

Either game would sound enticing for the league to schedule on national television. The most likely outcome will be the Bears facing the Commanders and the Packers going up against the Eagles. For those interested, the Bears are 1-1 on Christmas and last played on the holiday in 2011 against the Packers.

The rest of the team's 2025 schedule will release on Wednesday, May 14th and we will know for sure whether the Bears will actually be playing on Christmas or not, but it seems to be headed that way.
