Things can change in the NFL in a heartbeat. A player can go from All Pro to yesterday’s news in a hurry or do the reverse with one outstanding season. With that in mind, here are five Green Bay Packers players who face a crossroads in their careers in 2026. These players could become significant contributors next season, find themselves on the bench or even out of a job before the season even starts. They are not listed in any particular order.

Packers Players On Offense Who Are at a Crossroads in Their Careers in 2026, Number Five: RB MarShawn Lloyd

MarShawn Lloyd continues to struggle to stay on the football field. The third-round pick out of USC has played a total of one game in his first two NFL seasons due to assorted injuries that have sidelined him. So far, he has six carries for 15 yards.

Barring injury, Lloyd will only be battling for the backup running back spot behind Josh Jacobs. But the Packers could also add another running back in the draft this offseason to compete with him and Chris Brooks.

Another injury plagued training camp or season would give Lloyd a reputation as an oft injured and unreliable player. A solid season would make him a future part of the Packers offense.

Number Four: TE Luke Musgrave

Luke Musgrave enters the final season of his rookie contract in 2026. He started as a rookie before suffering a lacerated kidney injury midseason. Since then, he has been unable to regain his job as the team’s top tight end from Tucker Kraft. He has also been unable to find a consistent role for himself in the Green Bay offense.

Musgrave caught 24 passes last season for 252 yards. He did not score a touchdown. He provides the Packers with a downfield threat at tight end, something they have lacked since Jermichael Finley’s career ended.

If Kraft is healthy, Musgrave will not be the starter. However, he must become more consistent and productive this season to secure a second contract either with the Packers or another NFL team for 2027.

Packers Players On Offense Who Are at a Crossroads in Their Careers in 2026, Number Three: OL Jordan Morgan

After two seasons wandering between positions and filling in at different positions along the offensive line, Jordan Morgan becomes the favorite to start at left tackle, the position he played in college.

Thus far, the Packers have likely hampered his development as an NFL player by having Morgan play both tackle and guard. He has also played on both the left side and right side of the offensive line which may have also made the transition to the NFL more difficult.

With a strong season, Morgan can establish himself as a quality starting left tackle in the NFL. The Packers need him to do a good job protecting the blind side of quarterback Jordan Love. If he struggles, he could be considered a bust as a first-round pick. His future would become that of a journeyman NFL player.

Number Two: WR Dontayvion Wicks

Wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks enters the final year of his rookie contract. The former Virginia star remains a player with immense talent who has yet to find consistency in his game. As of now, Wicks looks like the fourth wide receiver on the Packers depth chart.

Wicks does a good job of getting open, but his inconsistent hands and overall performance have yet to live up to his full potential. Last season, he played 14 games and started seven. Wicks caught 30 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns. He reduced his dropped passes from nine in 2024 to just two in 2025.

There are rumors that either Wicks or Jayden Reed could be traded this offseason to improve the team in other areas. Regardless of where he plays, Wicks need to take his game to the next level to earn a second contract with the Packers or another NFL team.

Packers Players On Offense Who Are at a Crossroads in Their Careers in 2026, Number One: G Anthony Belton

Anthony Belton enters his second NFL season. The 2025 second round pick started the season as a backup tackle but finished the year as the Packers starting right guard. The Packers took him because of his size and strength as part of the team’s plan to improve the team’s run blocking.

Belton needs to establish himself as a reliable starter. The Packers lack depth along the interior offensive line right now. Even if they address guard in the draft, the ability of a rookie to take over as the starter would be limited.

Belton can play tackle and play guard. The Packers value versatility in their offensive linemen and Belton can either become a reliable starter this year and beyond or be cast aide and viewed as a depth piece if he can’t step in and get the job done.
