Five NFL trades we'd love to see before training camp

We know Jerry Jones loves Adams. Dallas tried to acquire him during the regular season and then made another run at him early this offseason. Ultimately, a high asking price drove the Cowboys away with the front office deciding to wait until the moment is right. Now that Adams actually wants a trade, the door could be open for a blockbuster.

The Cowboys might not love the idea of trading first- and fourth-round selections, but that might be the least it would take to land Adams. Dallas won’t find an All-Pro defender anywhere else this offseason, and it’s not like this defense is ready to win a Super Bowl. Now is the time for Jones to go all-in with this team, and a blockbuster deal for Adams might make the Cowboys the NFC favorite.

Seattle Seahawks bolster pass rush with Yannick Ngakoue

We haven’t heard Yannick Ngakoue’s name mentioned in the rumor mill for months. Of course, that’s likely because the Jaguars set an absurd asking price for him and unsurprisingly had no luck dealing him during the draft. While Jacksonville might be willing to keep him right now, that will likely change considering his refusal to play for the organization.

The Seahawks badly need more help along the defensive line, and Ngakoue would provide a monumental upgrade. He has recorded 85 quarterback hits, 42 tackles for loss, forced 14 fumbles and registered 37.5 sacks in four seasons. Adding Ngakoue to the defensive line would be even more helpful than signing Jadeveon Clowney. As for a return, the Jaguars might just have to accept a 2021 first-round pick for Ngakoue and a 2021 fourth-round selection.

Philadelphia Eagles replace Brandon Brooks with Joe Thuney

The loss of Brandon Brooks along the offensive line is a massive blow for the Eagles. He proved to be one of the NFL’s best offensive linemen in recent seasons and provided this group with stability, especially when it dealt with so many injuries around him. If the Eagles want to keep Carson Wentz protected this season, a big move is necessary.

While the Patriots surprisingly kept Thuney this offseason, they still shopped him around the league. Considering New England’s tight cap situation and the offense entering a transition year, a trade still seems possible. The Eagles should offer a 2021 third-round pick, scooping up Thuney and replacing one elite guard with another.

Green Bay Packers buy low on Kenny Stills

It proved to be a strange offseason for the Packers. Instead of surrounding Aaron Rodgers with more weapons, Green Bay seemingly focused its early 2020 draft picks on building for the future. If this organization wants to compete for another Super Bowl, however, Rodgers deserves another talented receiver.

The Houston Texans are likely ready to move on from Kenny Stills, considering their depth at wide receiver. If he becomes available, he’s the perfect flier candidate for the Packers to acquire. The 28-year-old averaged 14 yards per catch this past season and is just two years removed from an even better 2017 season. While opposing teams focused on Davante Adams, Stills would thrive in Green Bay’s offense as a go-to deep threat for Rodgers.

San Francisco 49ers take a chance on Curtis Samuel

Calling this a rough week for the 49ers would be an understatement. Not only will they enter the 2020 season without star receiver Deebo Samuel , but playmaker Richie James will also miss time with a broken bone in his wrist. We know head coach Kyle Shanahan has a brilliant mind, but even he might admit this receiving corps needs some help.

The Carolina Panthers have never found the right way to use Samuel’s skills. After signing Robby Anderson earlier this offseason, it seems the organization is willing to part ways with its former second-round pick. A player with this level of athleticism and explosive ability deserves to be in San Francisco’s offense. It might take some convincing, perhaps with a fourth-round pick, but the 49ers must try to acquire Samuel.
