Five-time Pro Bowl WR drops hint of teams he'd like to play for

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins remains a hot name on the NFL's trade rumor mill, and it seems to simply be a matter of when not if (and to where) he gets traded before the start of the 2023 season.

Hopkins knows this, and he dropped some hints on where he would like to go in the event of a trade.

Since he is under contract with the Cardinals, he can't say anything about his desire, but during an appearance on the All Things Covered podcast, he was asked to share his opinions on potential trade destinations by nothing more than body language.

The teams he was asked about: The New England Patriots, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.

You can see his reaction to each team here.

You do not need to be a body language expert to know his opinion on those possible destinations. The Jets and Patriots appeared to be a clear no, while the Bills and Chiefs seemed to get his attention.

Those reactions are pretty understandable for a star wide receiver that is still looking for a Super Bowl. The Bills and Chiefs figure to be top contenders for a championship and have elite quarterbacks in Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes respectively.

The Patriots are not a contender and do not have a superstar quarterback, while the Jets are still trying to figure out a way to acquire Aaron Rodgers.

Hopkins is set to make $19M in 2023 and $14M in 2024.

As a follow-up to this, Hopkins sent this tweet on Sunday morning indicating he is not looking for a raise.

Hopkins has played in just 19 games over the past two years. He caught 64 passes for 717 yards and three touchdowns this past season.

During his peak, he was one of the best, most dominant wide receivers in the league. He is turning 31 in June and is probably not the elite player he once was, but he should still be a very valuable wide receiver for any team that can trade for him.
