The Florida State Seminoles go into 2024 with something to prove. They want to show that they can be included in the conversation of college football’s elite. On Saturday, they got a huge boost. Former LSU Tigers wide receiver Jalen Brown announced he is committing to the program.

Florida State Lands WR Jalen Brown

Brown didn’t see the field much in 2023 which was a big reason for his departure from LSU. He was a former top-100 recruit and has a lot of potential. The Seminoles are hoping that he can become the next great receiver for the program. In the past decade, many quality receivers have come out of the program and made it in the NFL. Brown had this to say in a statement about his decision.

“The relationship with the coaches from when they recruited me out of high school was between FSU and LSU on my commitment day. They showed so much love to me and my family.”

2024 Outlook

Florida State doesn’t have a surprising schedule in 2024. The staple matchups are there against Florida, Miami, and Clemson. An early season matchup against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be a good early season test. Outside of those games, the rest of the schedule has a lot of winnable games. The Seminoles should be in the conversation for the College Football Playoff assuming they are able to take care of business. With the playoff expanding, the program shouldn’t have an issue making it in 2024 assuming they can string together some wins.

The Florida State Seminoles are hoping that in 2024 they can prove they belong. Landing talent out of the portal will definitely help accomplish that goal.
