Florio Suggests Steelers Waiting for Aaron Rodgers Will Be Worth It

Veteran quarterback and future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers has still not made a decision on where he will play in 2025, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are the main team that it is taking a toll on.

But in a recent episode of What the Football with Suzy Shuster and Amy Trask, Mike Florio says that he thinks the wait will be worth it for the AFC North team.

"I think back to 2009 when Brett Favre signed with the Vikings halfway through training camp," Florio said. "I think the same thing is going to happen when Aaron Rodgers shows up, and the Steelers' players see what he can do. They'll be like, okay, we understand why you waited as long as you did for this guy to make up his mind."

But there are just a few problems with that thought. One of them being, there is still no guarantee that Pittsburgh is going to get Rodgers, as the team seems to be fed up with him.

The other problem with Florio's thought is that Favre was coming off of a Pro Bowl season when he went to the Vikings.

Rodgers is definitely not.

He had one of the worst seasons of his career this past season with the New York Jets, as he led them to a 5-12 record, and threw 11 interceptions, which is the third-highest mark of his 20-year career.

The Steelers could still get the veteran QB, but at this point in Rodgers' career, the team could consider moving on and leaving him for another team.
