Former 1,000-yard receiver had recent visit with Harbaugh and the Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers moved on from Mike Williams and Keenan Allen during this offseason. Drafting Ladd McConkey in round two was a good start to building a new WR room, but it was an only a start. They need at least one more proven talent.

Enter: former Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd. He's a prior 1,000-yard receiver who has totaled 513 catches in his NFL career as a WR2/WR3 with the Bengals.

The Chargers met with WR Tyler Boyd this week, according to Jeremy Fowler.

Boyd is still just 29 years old. He can fill the role of a bigger-body wideout who can make plays downfield or over the middle of the field for LA.

They reportedly have AFC competition for Boyd in the Tennessee Titans, though. He left LA without a deal to go visit the Titans, so that meeting is worth monitoring this week.

Giving Justin Herbert another proven player at receiver could go a long way for the new-look Chargers offense under Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman. Boyd has found most of his success in the league from the slot, but he can also take reps outside.

A short-term deal looks most likely for Boyd, so the Chargers could grab him without a long-term investment as well.
