The Baltimore Ravens made a surprising cut on Tuesday before the roster cutdown deadline at 4 p.m. ET.

They released former Alabama Crimson Tide cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis. Armour-Davis was picked by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft and had been with them for the previous three seasons until he was cut on Tuesday.

He has battled injuries during his career, playing in only 19 games over the span of three years. In those games, he has compiled 20 tackles (12 solo) and two passes defended. He finished the preseason with three solo tackles, four passes defended, and an interception.

Armour-Davis will have a chance to land with a different team before the 2025 NFL season starts on September 4. The Philadelphia Eagles will raise their Super Bowl banner when they host the Dallas Cowboys to open the new season.

There are always teams looking for more depth at cornerback, and the former Alabama cornerback will have options in the coming days.

As for his former team, the Ravens are trying to get over the hump this year after losing to the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs last season. They have had star quarterback Lamar Jackson for the past seven seasons but haven't broken through yet.

They'll open their 2025 NFL season on September 7 against the Bills in a rematch of last season's playoff game.

Kickoff will be at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
