As the NFL trade deadline approaches, the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys have made a deal that sends former Alabama defensive lineman Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys.
Williams is a multi-time pro-bowler and has been on the Jets for the entirety of his professional career. He is viewed as one of the best interior defensive linemen in the league, and the defensive line is a position the Cowboys desperately needed to improve as the organization sent Micah Parsons to the Packers before the season began.
The Jets are looking to the future and dealing their best players for draft picks. The Cowboys are sending a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round draft pick and defensive tackle Mazi Smith to the Jets for Williams. The pick that Dallas is sending to New York is the pick that the Cowboys have, not the first-round pick that they acquired from the Packers.
The Cowboys are currently 3-5-1 in the NFL, and they are second in the NFC East to the Eagles. Williams will likely make his Cowboys debut against the Raiders in two weeks as Dallas is on a bye week.
