Former Alabama LB Mack Wilson signs with NFC West team in NFL free agency
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The National Football League begins its new year on Wednesday, and several former Alabama players are moving around.

Mack Wilson, a Crimson Tide alumnus, has signed a three-year, $12.75 million deal for the Arizona Cardinals. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network broke the news on Monday as the deal is worth up to $15 million and gives the Cardinals help on defense.

Wilson, 26, spent the last two seasons (2022-23) with the New England Patriots.

The Montgomery (Ala.) native was taken in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Wilson, a former five-star in the University of Alabama’s 2016 recruiting class, helped the Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017 and two Southeastern Conference Championships in 2016 and 2018. He had a team-high four interceptions in 2017, including one returned for a touchdown, getting the Crimson Tide to a national title. Wilson totaled 199 tackles in 60 career games between Browns and Patriots.

He now heads to the west coast to play for the Cardinals.
